WELL, I AM! A Nigerian comedian by the name A.Y had this to say in an interactive section on radio when asked: “where have you been all this while that of a sudden you just came and change the game of comedy in Nigeria with your unique style?” He replied saying; “life is turn by turn”, meaning when you are next nothing can stop you, he then tagged it “Turn by Turn Nigeria Limited”…. For real, he has been in the game without recognition, when it was his turn to shine nothing could hold him bound. That is life…. We all have our turn. It is best for us to know the seasons of our life and maximize it.

Today I bring it to your notice that you have a stake in that company called “Turn by Turn Nigeria Limited” and God is the CEO; (FYI, the company sure pays dividend), He determines whose turn it is next. To think of it that there is someone that controls the universe, someone that is not a man and cannot lie, someone that cannot be unfaithful, someone that never fails, a friend that is just, merciful and gracious, a friend that would prefer the world to come to an end instead for an iota of his word to pass without confirmation. Wow! That person must be awesome indeed.

Times in life we feel like we are going through the worst of situations wait until you hear the stories of others; you will learn to be thankful for yours. Things may not be working at the moment, things are happening around you and you are almost looking like you are in this world just to observe because it is not happening in your life; don’t be dismay, your turn is sure. I have had experiences in delays: (before I got admission into the university and before I got a job), in the space of it I have lost about 4years; not too long, some would say, I was busy on the queue waiting for my turn, still everything is coming in good time. Not too long as said but others got theirs so cheaply, even if based on merit you count yourself worthy to have gotten a job before some of your friends that graduated with a third class because you obtained a first class; in the real world its not justifiable, the bible says time and chance happens to all. Yours might seem like taking forever, but have you considered it may be for a reason, which at the present may seem so unreasonable because of your present situations. I tell you I wouldn’t known how to compose this piece if I had not experienced it, those times are hard, but it is in the past now and there are things I know now that I wouldn’t have known if I got what I wanted then.

Highlighted below are some nuggets you may want to observe while waiting for your turn. One thing for sure, you can’t afford not to do anything or give up. Firstly, I’ll like to refer you to my article on “Patience: Faith, Love and Hope” by clicking HERE. Flourish your charisma, living and thinking while actively searching or waiting.

Make more attempts: Whatever your endeavors are at the moment or whatever you hope to be in the future, just keep keeping on; don’t be afraid of trying because of previous failed attempts and don’t be tired of trying for every sunset has a sunrise. Make more attempts, even if you fail do more and keep your focus. Whatever the delay you may be experiencing at the moment, just keep holding on and trusting that your attempts would only take you one step higher and closer to your desire; it could be your turn in the next attempt, why give up now?

Develop yourself: Money may be an issue here, however, there are things that don’t cost much or even free. Do things that make you relevant in the present and useful in the future. Attend seminars, expand your general knowledge and actively seek to dive into the realm of the unknown to uncover it. Time is abundant at this stage, invest them by developing your skills and take lots of pleasure in what you like to do; it will surely make a way for you.

Live the life: There are tendencies for one to be downcast, cry, etc, know that life would not respond to the amount of tears you shed, matter of fact; you will be doing yourself more harm then good, which may even be evident in your health. Raise your head and live the life, it is life also not to have a wife, husband, job, baby etc, not a pleasant one though, but would your rather die? Keep your head up knowing that they would come. Sorrows may endure the night but joy cometh in the morning. Sometimes one may get thinking and feel depressed, it’s ok, just make sure you get back to yourself on time; worries never produce results and it will never, your depressed mode may even make you miss opportunities and lengthen the delay. So live your life!

Be Cheerful: Be at your best at all times, let nothing determine your joy, choose to be happy, don’t go around feeling like the world is against you thereby making people want to ask if you are ok, thus announcing yourself. Glory in your trials knowing that they are around but for a short time. This problem too shall pass, do your part and commit your affairs to God. “For ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God ye might receive the promise” – Hebrew 10:36

Get Involved: Get into activities, be part of happenings, take responsibility and be useful at occasions. In your church you could take up responsibilities and get actively involved in a service group, at home get busy with anything good that you can invest your time in like reading, watching reasonable T.V programs etc. don’t be a spectator always, get at something. It is in you busyness that God will give you a business: Check out how Jesus recruited his disciples, they were out in their busyness when Jesus gave them a business, if they were not busy they may not be found useful or worthy of a task. so also even today; if do nothing you’ll get nothing in return, it’s a natural other that produces itself just like the rich getting richer and vice versa.

Be more outgoing: At every opportunity you get to leave your house ensure it’s worth the while. Visit places, visit friends, travel if you like. The benefit avails you is that you get to learn from your environment, learn from your friends and others, expand your views knowing that there are people around instead of keeping yourself in the house where nothing happens but eat and sleep. It helps because it takes your time positively and takes your mind off issues that causes loneliness and depression.

Meet people: Relate well in times like this, be receptive to people, not any how persons though. Meet People you feel you can relate with and people that can add to you. You could also meet people that are in the same state (condition) with you, they could have useful information; a piece of discussion could open you to ideas or opportunities. Your messenger of good new could come the same way. Improve on your interpersonal relation skills, it very useful.

Be prayerful: Above all, it’s not by strength or might, get on your knees and make your request known to the king of kings. Our basic means of communication to our heavenly father is through prayer. He knows what you are going through, but you still have to ask in other to receive. “…for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”. – Hebrews 11:6

In all God knows what is best for us and the best time to deliver it. Commit your cares to him for he cares for you. Keep it in mind that God has never left anyone that called upon him on aided and your case would not be the first, no matter how ugly it may seem… exercise Patience in Faith, Love and Hope. It will not tarry, your turn is NEXT!
